Joining the Club
The San Diego Investors Club is open to investors of all types and experience levels.
We meet every Saturday in person to provide mutual education, emotional support, and fellowship with like-minded friends.
Membership is free, but you must be invited by a current member to join. You must also actually be investing in something on a regular basis. Real estate, stocks, your own business, etc. This club is for people who are doing something in the real world, not just talking about it. It’s for people who are actively doing it — not someone who bought one property ten years ago or is only passively putting part of their paycheck into a 401(k) managed by someone else.
We’re the kind of people who are regularly in the market looking for opportunities, making our own decisions, and continually growing and improving.
It doesn’t matter if you’re totally new to investing and starting with a tiny account or your first property — or if you’ve been doing this for decades and managing a large portfolio. All levels and types are welcome. You just have to be invited and actually be regularly investing.
This club is a safe place to share your highs and lows, successes and setbacks, struggles and victories. We all have stories of amazing wins and devastating losses. It’s part of the game. Part of an investor’s journey. Here, you can celebrate your wins with others who’ll truly understand and appreciate what it took for you to get there.
And it’s a place where you can ask for help, advice, insight, or just some words of encouragement when you need it — and give back the same to others when they need it too.
We’re a community that mutually supports, encourages, and builds up each other. We’re a tribe of investors that continually grows together.
Each weekly get-together is a little different. Possibilities include:
Mentor: On a completely volunteer basis, members can offer to teach the group about their area of specialty. Do you love trading stock options? Are you a master at wholesaling real estate? Have experience starting companies to later sell for a huge profit? Teach us what you know and love. We’re here to learn and grow. And we’ll do the same for you.
Play: Sometimes we’ll play Cashflow®, the board game created by Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad) — or any other investing, resource management, or financial themed game someone recommends.
Watch: Based on member request, we may watch an educational how-to video, documentary, or TED talk that’s interesting and relevant to us.
Read: If there’s mutual interest, we may read a certain recommended book during the week, and discuss it when we meet in person. Basically, be like a book club for investors.
Socialize: Or sometimes, we simply need a break from thinking about business and investing, and just want to connect with other like-minded people. The San Diego Investors Club is about fostering new and meaningful friendships too. So sometimes, we’ll just hang out and chat about our lives, hobbies, and other interests. Or just all go see a fun movie together.
